About the Fisheries Northwest Region Website

This Website provides information about the current activities and organization of the Northwest Regional Office of NOAA Fisheries. Older information and documents are available by e-mailing the NWR Web content manager to request them.

This Website is organized by general subject areas, indicated by the blue bars near the top of our pages. When you scroll over them you’ll see drop-down menus that lead you deeper into those subjects.

We also have an A-Z Subject Index where you can look for specific areas of interest listed alphabetically.

Information about the Northwest Regional Office’s structure and organization is linked from About the NWR on our standard right-hand navigation column. There are organization charts, staff directories, and descriptions of the work that our divisions and offices do.

Our pages are organized with the subject content in the center, including context, background, menus of links to related documents, and other information as appropriate. Most pages include our standard right-hand navigation column, with links to areas of wide general interest. Some of our pages include a left-hand navigation column, which has links to related subjects for that page.

Once we finalize any action and have posted final documents and information on this Website, we remove drafts, proposals, and outdated information. You can get those documents by e-mailing the NWR Web content manager to request them. We maintain some fishery regulations for several seasons. We retain all NWR-related Federal Register notices in our FRN index.

There are “breadcrumbs” above the titles on our pages that indicate where you are within a section and help to provide context for the information on that page.

The small globe (non-U.S.-gov't link) indicates a link to a non-federal-government Website. We may alternatively indicate such links by identifying the outside Website with a text description.

Our Publications section, which is linked from our standard right-hand navigation column, contains various useful documents. It includes Northwest Region-related Federal Register notices, maps and GIS information, reports, biological status reviews, and assorted references.

We provide access to Northwest Region Endangered Species Act Section 7 biological opinions through an online consultation query page. This Public Consultation Tracking System (PCTS) also allows federal agencies and applicants for U.S. Army Corps of Engineers permits to track the status of NOAA Fisheries consultations. There are links to these services from our standard right-hand navigation column.

Links to PDFs on this Website and to any pages outside this Website open in a new window. This ensures that you can maintain contact with the Northwest Region information page you’re on while you explore links off of it.

If you can’t find a document or information you need, or have any problems accessing a file on this Website, please e-mail the Web content manager for assistance.
