The Northwest Fisheries Science Center provides scientific support for NOAA Fisheries' salmon-management decisions. The center now has two Web resources that provide information and data on the status of Pacific Northwest salmon and steelhead.
Salmon Population Trend Summaries has summaries of abundance trends for salmon and steelhead populations listed under the Endangered Species Act in the Pacific Northwest. These summaries were prepared to support NOAA Fisheries various reporting requirements under the Government Performance Results Act, Pacific Coastal Salmon Recovery Fund, ESA Biennial Reports, and others, and are intended for overview purposes only.
The data used for calculating the above trend summaries are available at the science center's Salmon Population Summary database. This database houses the population status information utilized by the technical recovery teams. This Salmon Population Summary database includes a web-map tool that allows users to interactively download and visualize population data for all Northwest Region salmon and steelhead populations.
