Feb. 10, 2009: NOAA Fisheries Service announced that the Northwest Indian Fisheries Commission has submitted an amendment to its Tribal Resource Management Plan. The amendment would allow tribal researchers to take adult and juvenile Puget Sound steelhead and adult Puget Sound Chinook salmon in addition to the fish they already take under the current tribal plan. NOAA has completed a proposed evaluation of the amendment and is making it available for public comment.
NOAA will consider and address all substantive comments received by 5 p.m. (Pacific Daylight Time) on Mar. 12, 2009.
