Proposed ESA Salmon 4(d) Actions
Mar. 12, 2007: NOAA Fisheries Service announced that the Northwest Indian Fisheries Commission has submitted a Tribal Resource Management Plan under the Endangered Species Act 4(d) Tribal plan limit. The Tribal plan would affect Puget Sound Chinook salmon and Hood Canal summer-run chum salmon. NOAA completed a proposed evaluation of the Tribal plan and made the it available for public comment.
Feb. 7, 2007: NOAA Fisheries Service proposed protective regulations under section 4(d) of the Endangered Species Act (ESA) for Puget Sound steelhead, which are proposed for listing as a threatened species, and requested public review and comment. The agency also announced availability of an environmental assessment (EA) that analyzes the impacts of promulgating these 4(d) regulations.
