As a science-based resource-management agency, NOAA Fisheries prepares and uses an assortment of publications in carrying out agency duties. These range from various reference documents, to environmental impact statements and assessments under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), to biological opinions resulting from Endangered Species Act (ESA) and Magnuson-Stevens Act (MSA) consultations, to Federal Register notices (FRNs).

These materials include ESA recovery plans and population status reviews, maps and geographic information system (GIS) data, fish passage information, and various habitat-related publications.
