NOAA's National Marine Fisheries Service - Northwest Region

Tagshinney Tree Farm HCP

The multi-species agreement covers 144 acres (five parcels) of second-growth timber in southwest Washington State. Coho and steelhead inhabit a small stream and the shore of Mayfeld Lake. This HCP was NOAA Fisheries Service’s first use of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) categorical exclusion to describe a low-effect HCP and unlisted species agreement. The categorical exclusion was signed and incidental take permit issued in March 2004.
