Hatchery programs that may affect ESA-protected fish must be evaluated for compliance with the Endangered Species Act. Such programs include those that use listed fish for research or enhancement purposes. The Northwest Region analyzes proposed hatchery actions in a NEPA document, such as an environmental impact statement (EIS) or environmental assessment (EA).
