Current Hatchery & Genetic Management Plans

The following hatchery and genetic management plans (HGMPs) have been approved by the Northwest Region as meeting the criteria described in the 4(d) Rule (Limit 5). The 4(d) rule says that artificial propagation activities are not subject to take prohibitions under Section 9 of the Endangered Species Act provided they are conducted in accordance with an approved HGMP and a letter of concurrence from NOAA Fisheries Service.

The HGMPs listed below have been submitted to the Northwest Region; the public has been given an opportunity to review and comment on each. NOAA Fisheries Service has determined that these HGMPs meet the rigorous criteria described in the 4(d) rule, and that artificial propagation conducted in accordance with these HGMPs and their associated monitoring and reporting requirements will not appreciably reduce the likelihood of survival and recovery of listed species affected by those activities.
