Regional Implementation Team

The Implementation Team (IT) is made up of program and policy level representatives from the federal operating and regulatory agencies, states (including Alaska), Columbia River Indian Tribes, and mid-Columbia public utility districts. Not all those eligible for membership participate actively. The Implementation Team and its technical teams provide a mechanism for coordination, decision, and appropriate and timely implementation of NOAA's biological opinions on the Federal Columbia River Power System (FCRPS). These include real-time operations of the hydroelectric system to protect migrating salmon and other ESA-listed species, needs and priority for changes to mainstem Columbia fish passage facilities, fish transportation, and research, monitoring and evaluation needs.

The team also serves as a forum for information exchange and discussion of related activities and issues. The Implementation Team normally meets on the first Thursday of the month at the NOAA Fisheries Service office in Portland, Oregon. Minutes of all meetings are available and all IT meetings are open to the public.
