Proposed Columbia River Estuary ESA Recovery Plan Module for Salmon & Steelhead Public Workshops: NOAA Fisheries Service held two public workshops in January 2008 so people could learn more about the proposed Columbia River Estuary Module and provide comments on it. Jan. 2, 2008: NOAA Fisheries Service released the proposed Columbia River Estuary Recovery Plan Module for Salmon and Steelhead, which will be the basis of estuary recovery actions for Endangered Species Act-listed salmon and steelhead in the Columbia River Basin. Recovery plans for listed Columbia Basin salmon evolutionarily significant units (ESUs) and steelhead distinct population segments (DPSs) will incorporate the module by reference. It’s important to have a unified set of actions for the Columbia River estuary to address the needs of all listed Columbia Basin ESUs and DPSs. - Federal Register notice (73FR161) (PDF 68KB)
