Snake Sub-Domain ESA Salmon Recovery Plans in Progress

Mar. 14, 2006: NOAA Fisheries Service announced availability of the Endangered Species Act Draft Snake River Salmon Recovery Plan for Southeast Washington and its supplement. This plan covers portions of three evolutionarily significant units (ESUs) of salmon and two distinct populations of steelhead: Snake River sockeye, Snake River spring/summer Chinook, Snake River fall Chinook, middle Columbia River steelhead, and Snake River steelhead. The draft includes an 18-month implementation plan with actions that have been developed by multiple agencies and groups within the recovery area. The supplement, prepared by NOAA Fisheries Service, assesses the plan's relationship to ESA requirements for recovery plans.
