Salmon Recovery Monitoring

Apr. 7, 2011:  NOAA Fisheries released its final salmon recovery monitoring guidance. This guidance is designed to better assist those involved with salmon recovery in the Pacific Northwest to understand the recovery monitoring needs and associated level of certainty at the regional, local, and project levels. The recommendations included are for federal and state agencies, Indian tribes, local governments and watershed organizations in Oregon, Washington and Idaho that are actively developing recovery-plan monitoring programs, or are modifying existing monitoring for salmon and steelhead listed under the Endangered Species Act (ESA). The Fisheries Service released the draft guidance in June 2009 for public comment. This final version incorporates comments received.
