Voices from the Fisheries
In 2012, the Northwest Region received a Fisheries Education grant to engage middle or high school students with their community in regards to salmon recovery. Our vision is to inspire students to learn from the people in their community working on salmon recovery efforts in their community and highlight recovery efforts and what that means for the fish, the watershed and their community. We are honored to be working with schools surrounding the Lake Ozette Basin on Washington's outer coast. The grant will allow us to loan video cameras and iPads to classrooms interested in this project.
Please contact nwr.education@noaa.gov if you are interested in a similar project in your watershed.
