ESU Definition: This distinct population segment, or DPS, includes all naturally spawned anadromous winter-run and summer-run O. mykiss (steelhead) populations, in streams in the river basins of the Strait of Juan de Fuca, Puget Sound, and Hood Canal, Wash., bounded to the west by the Elwha River (inclusive) and to the north by the Nooksack River and Dakota Creek (inclusive), and the Green River natural and Hamma Hamma winter-run steelhead hatchery stocks.
